Anne Pirker
Registered Massage Therapist | Eastern College Massage Therapy | MTANS member
Anne Pirker graduated RMT with distinction from Eastern Collage in Halifax. She originally hails from Toronto, Ontario. A previous graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Anne has a BA and B Ed in Physical Education and Business Studies.
Anne sees so many positive benefits to using Massage Therapy in helping to heal the body. From her own experience as a competitive tennis player, Anne had both a frozen shoulder injury and torn knee meniscus. Surgery and Physiotherapy were on the rehabilitation menu, but she found that along with this, regular massage therapy treatments increased her healing rate, and helped with stress levels, range of motion mobility, and her overall well-being. Anne is convinced that without adding Massage Therapy to her treatment plan, she would still be struggling to heal these injuries.
Read MoreAnne offers various therapeutic treatments including: Myofascial Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy for chronic painful areas, Relaxation Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Joint mobilizations, TMJ massage, Abdominal massage, Cupping, Indian Head Massage & Hot Stone Massage. She has also had training in Pre and Post-Natal massage, and Manual Lymph Drainage. Anne feels it is necessary to stay up to date with the latest massage research in order to provide evidence-based treatments wherever possible. She will continue to learn new modalities and techniques.
Anne believes that massage is not only a science, but also a true art form. She believes that Caring, Safety and Trust are the foundation for treatment and healing. For her, it is a joy to be able to help with pain relief and the rehabilitation process.
