Alicia Bowers

Registered Massage Therapist, Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, MTANS

  • Alicia began her career as a physiotherapy assistant at a busy sports therapy clinic in HRM. It was there that she began to fully understand the implications of sports injuries, after having so many from playing volleyball, rugby and other sports when she was younger. While working there, she found her passion for working in the healthcare field and wanted to be a more hands-on therapist. Upon graduating CCMH, Alicia trained and worked with clients that suffered from neurological conditions (MS, CP, ALS, etc.), chronic and acute arthritis, migraine headaches,

sports (post and pre-event injuries), post-operative clients as well as pre and post-natal clients. During this time she was told she had the natural ability to find and treat through her massage techniques, with a smooth, even, effective flow. Her treatment style can be described as moderate to deep, with the ability to modify her treatment styles and pressure to the client's preference. She likes to work on the neck, shoulders, gluteal region and legs the most, and with her background in physio, she has a wealth of knowledge on what home-care would be most beneficial to give to her clients as it is the key to success in any treatment/recovery process when used in conjunction with massage therapy treatments.

Mason Keeping

Registered Massage Therapist, Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, MTANS

  • Time to re-introduce Mason, or as they typically go by, Mase. Mase has been working with MEx since graduating from CCMH in 2014. In this time, they've continued to keep growing and still learning how to thrive within the massage industry. With a special interest in treating TMJ-related pain and disfunction, both superficially and intra-orally, Mase has a knack for relieving chronic jaw pain, immobility and related headache/migraine symptoms. *Worth noting: for a more effective TMJ treatment, it is very beneficial to book 2-3 focused appointments within a 10-15 day time frame.

As someone who identifies within the trans*/ non-binary spectrum, Mase hopes to shed the gender-biased expectations as that of a "male therapist", so please don't expect the "no pain, no gain" attitude during any of their style of treatments. With a soft, gentle touch, yet "tough on knots" mentality, they hope to offer a safe, welcoming and mindful space for any member of the LGBTQ community in need of massage therapy.

    Specialties:
    Therapeutic Massage
    Relaxation Massage
    Intra- and Exter-Oral TMJ Massage**
    Myofascial Release
    Guasha Stone Therapy

    Chronic Headache Management

Mase has a strong passion for encouraging self-care via proper stretching and guided movement, and over the years has developed a great love for and interest in Yoga. They've recently finished their 200hr yoga teacher training, and now looks forward to incorporating more guided movement and yoga postures to help with specific ongoing aches or pain.
